Komen top leaders step down

Posted: Updated:

(CNN) - There's a shakeup at Susan G. Komen for the Cure -- one of America's leading breast cancer advocacy groups.

The foundation says Nancy Brinker, who founded the group 30 years ago, will leave as CEO once a replacement is found. She'll move to a new management position. Also, Elizabeth Thompson will step down as president next month. Two board members are also leaving.

Brinker told the Wall Street Journal the changes are unrelated to the Planned Parenthood controversy earlier this year.
