EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Temperatures will warm again into the mid to upper 90's during the afternoon with another chance of showers and thunderstorms.

An upper level disturbance and a cold front approaching the area will aid in the development of these storms later this afternoon and evening. Dry air will move into the region for the weekend behind the cold front providing slightly cooler temperatures.

Hundreds of East Texans are still without power after Wednesday's storms. Oncor reports 208 customers are waiting for power to be restored in Cherokee County.

Smith County only has 12 in the dark right now --that's compared to thousands on yesterday.

Nacogdoches County has 164. Swepco is reporting just over a 100 outages in Rusk County and 172 in Morris County.
