TROUP (KYTX) - Troup ISD has a new temporary interim superintendent.

Trustees appointed Dr. Katie Preast, the executive director of curriculum and instruction, during a special meeting Tuesday night.

Outgoing superintendent Dr. Marvin Beaty recommended Dr. Preast.

Dr. Beaty served eight years at Troup and is leaving the district for Bonham ISD in Fannin County.

Troup should hire a permanent interim superintendent in the coming weeks and hopes to have a superintendent in place by March or April.
