Man reported missing in June now charged with copper theft

LONGVIEW (KYTX) – A 36-year-old Winona man reported missing in June is now in the Gregg County Jail on a copper theft charge.

Jason Alan "Foghorn" Dillard is being held on $10,000 bond following his arrest Wednesday by Gregg County sheriff's deputies on a theft warrant and public intoxication. According to online records, the theft case was filed in Gregg County's Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace court in Gladewater for an offense that occurred July 31.

In mid-June, Harrison County sheriff's officers asked the public's help in finding Dillard, who had last been seen June 17 when he left a friend's house on Rupe Huffman Road near Marshall en route to Lake O' The Pines. On June 19, Dillard's truck was found abandoned on private property, and Dillard had not reported to his job with Key Energy.

According to the Marshall News Messenger, family members posted flyers for the then-missing man around the Lake O' The Pines area in hopes of finding Dillard's whereabouts.

Earlier this year, Dillard completed a nine-month jail sentence in Gregg County for a November conviction for burglary of a vehicle.
