Man helps arthritic dog sleep by swimming in lake

(KYTX) - The story of a picture that's gone viral -- about the love between a man and man's best friend.

"It's been viewed almost three million times; it's been shared I think 150,000 times," says Hannah Hudson, photographer who snapped the viral picture.

John Unger and Schoep have spent almost 20 years together after Unger saved the dog as a puppy.

But because Schoep is nearing the end of his long, happy life, he suffers from arthritis and has trouble sleeping.

To ease his pain Unger takes him swimming and Schoep falls asleep floating in his arms.

Professional photographer Hannah Hudson snapped the picture as the two were out in the water one day. Since then the picture has gone viral, and Unger says he's received overwhelming support for Schoep.
