Rusk County Sheriff's Office:

RUSK COUNTY (KYTX) - On Aug 10, 2012, at approximately 12pm, Deputy Ben Reynolds responded to a call at the intersection of CR 4156 and Hwy 64. The call was in reference to a white male who allegedly was passed out behind the wheel.

When Deputy Reynolds arrived on scene he discovered Alan Dale Crouch, 42, of Willis, Texas, asleep behind the wheel with engine running and gearshift in drive. He woke up Crouch and requested him to roll down his window and turn off the engine. Crouch appeared to be very nervous and was having difficulty following Deputy Reynolds simple instructions such as presenting his drivers licenses. Deputy Reynolds requested Crouch to exit the vehicle and as he exited the vehicle he seemed to be unsteady on his feet.

Deputy Reynolds received information from dispatch that Crouch had active warrants out of Waller and Montgomery County. As Deputy Reynolds informed Crouch he was under arrest for the active warrants, Crouch attempted to run away when Reynolds attempted to place him in handcuffs. Deputy Reynolds was able to gain control of Crouch and place handcuffs on him.

As Deputy Reynolds performed a pat search on Crouch, he discovered baggies of suspected methamphetamine in Crouch's right front pocket. A search of the vehicle was conducted by Deputy Reynolds with assistance of Deputy Matt Linthicum where they discovered several clear plastic baggies, syringe, set of scales, along with other identifying information not belonging to the suspect.

Justice of the Peace, Precinct 5, Joe Sorrells charged Crouch with Manufacture or Delivery of Controlled Substance, Felony of first degree, with bond set at $10,000 and Resisting Search or Transportation, Class A misdemeanor, with bond set at $5,000.See More
