Fire crews, Texas Forest Service responding to 30-acre fire in Upshur County

EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - The Texas Forest Service Fire Activity map indicates that crews are responding today to a 30-acre zero-contained wildfire in eastern Upshur County.

The fire appears to be in an area between Gilmer and Diana. Upshur County sheriff's dispatchers said Fire Marshal Paul Steelman is out at a fire scene.

The Texas Forest Service is also reporting that a one-acre wildfire in Gregg County near East Mountain is 100 percent contained, and that a seven-acre fire in Van Zandt County that carried over from Sunday is zero percent contained. The Van Zandt fire is about five miles south of the Sabine River, according to the online fire activity map provided by Texas A&M University.
