Van Zandt County along with 6 additional counties under burn ban

UPDATE: VAN ZANDT COUNTY (KYTX) - Van Zandt County is the latest county to issue an outdoor burn ban in East Texas.

Fire Marshal Chuck Allen says they waited as long as they could, but conditions are too dry not to take action.

It will be in effect until further notice.

Anderson, Franklin , Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins and Marion Counties are all under bans as well.

Violating the bans can result in tickets and fine.


VAN ZANDT COUNTY (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - The Van Zandt County Commissioner's Court has issued a burn ban for all outdoor burning of combustible materials, according to a press release.

This order will be in effect until further notice, according to Van Zandt County Fire Marshall.
