Confirmed case of West Nile virus reported in Van Zandt County

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety

EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Texas Division of Emergency Management a confirmed West Nile case was reported in Van Zandt County on Monday.

Van Zandt was added to the state's list of counties with known infections in a briefing from the Department of Public Safety.

Van Zandt County had just one of the 80 new cases reported since last Wednesday.

Henderson and Angelina counties have also reported West Nile cases this year.

Here the following counties that are affected: Andrews, Angelina, Bastrop, Bell, Bexar, Brazos, Brazoria, Cass, Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Frio, Grayson, Hale, Hays, Harris, Henderson, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Lamar, Liberty, Limestone, Madison, McLennan, Montgomery, Navarro, Nueces, Randall, Tarrant, Travis, Tom Green, Wichita, Williamson, Wise, Van Zandt and Zavala Counties.
