Before you know it, fall will be here and it will be time to go back to school.  For parents that means stocking up on notebooks, number two pencils, and back to school clothes, all of which usually take a big chunk out of a family's budget.  So, just how much do parents will pay to send their kids off to school this year?More >>

AT&T is investing tens of millions of dollars into the campaign, "It Can Wait," a program to stop texting and driving, particularly among teens.  Our goal is to make texting and driving as socially unacceptable as drinking and driving, and to save lives.

We are working towards Pledge Day on September 1919th, but in the meantime, here is how you can help TODAY:

  • Take the pledge at www.itcanwait.com, by scanning the Q2 code in AT&T stores, or by texting Pledge to 28822; encourage your friends and families to do so.
  • Please post on your media website, Facebook page, Twitter account (#itcanwait) and your personal accounts
  • Interested in interviews?  Here's who we have on Aug. 15 between 10:30 and 11:30 am:
    • Wil Craig, a victim of texting-while-driving, is in Dallas to address AT&T employees.  Wil appeared in the AT&T produced film "The Last Text."  Looking to be moved?  Watch the film at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DebhWD6ljZs.  Wil appears at 5:50.
    • Shauvonne Jones, the AT&T employee from the Detroit area, who created DriveMode is also in Dallas to address AT&T employees.  DriveMode is a FREE app, available at www.itcanwait.com, for Android and Blackberry that holds incoming texts in a queue and sends an auto-response that the driver will return messages when it's safe.  The app can be customized.
    • If neither of those times work, we can arrange phone interviews at other times.  Contact us if another time is needed.
  • The in-car simulator will be appearing at the State Fair of Texas.  Need more info? Contact us.
  • Encourage teachers to use the in-classroom materials at www.itcanwait.com
  • Be a good example to the teens in your life.  Seventy-seven percent of teens have seen their parents text and drive.
  • Stop by an AT&T store to pick up your "No Text On Board" car sticker
