Update: Carmike theaters in Tyler and Longview are back open as of this afternoon, following a bomb threat to the corporate headquarters in Columbus, Georgia.
Investigators say a phone call left at the corporate offices late Thursday indicated a bomb threat, but did not specify which theater. That caused all Carmike theaters to be shut down Friday morning, while authorities secured and investigated the area.
The Carmike theater off South Broadway in Tyler re-opened at 1:45 p.m. after Fire Department officials gave the all clear. Up until that point, many moviegoers were turned away from the blocked off area.
Tyler police and fire officials are working with the FBI on the investigation, which is ongoing.
