(KYTX) - An East Texas man is dead and another is in critical condition after being involved in a motorcycle accident late Friday night.

DPS officials say around 11:30 Friday night, a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 62-year old Herbert Westly Owens was on U.S. Highway 80 just outside of Mineola when it hit 35-year old Kevin Worsham. Officials say Worsham was sitting in the roadway when the accident happened.

Kevin Worsham was pronounced dead at the scene. Herbert Westly Owens was transported to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler with a fractured skull.

Worsham was last listed in critical condition. Officials say he was not wearing a helmet.
