Kaufman County Sheriff's Department:

Kaufman (KYTX) - On August 20, 2012 at 2:32 a.m. Kaufman County deputies were in the process of executing a traffic stop on a burgundy Mercury Sable near the Sutton Fruit Company on Highway 175.

As the deputy approached the vehicle he identified the driver as Richard G. Yazquirre, 37, of Dallas, and the passenger as Jessica D. Flatt, 23, of Mabank. The deputy asked for permission to search the vehicle at which time Yazquirre agreed. The deputy located small plastic baggies filled with what was believed to be crystal methamphetamine hidden in the air vent of the vehicle, as well as a glass pipe normally used to smoke illegal drugs.

Both suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center. Bond is set at $500,000.00 for Yazquirre, and $100,848.10 for Flatt. Flatt also was wanted on three outstanding warrants out of Seven Points Police Department.
