GREENVILLE (KYTX) - Two Wood County residents were killed over the weekend in a car accident in Hunt County.

According to DPS, 43-year-old Tyrone Diggs of Quitman and his girlfriend, 34-year-old Amanda Cooper of Yantis, were traveling eastbound on Texas 276 near Quinlan Saturday when the 1998 Honda they were riding in veered into the westbound lane and struck a Chevy 1500 pickup driven by Gerald Womack Jr of West Tawakoni.

Officials say the road conditions were wet.

Diggs and Cooper were pronounced dead at the scene. Womack was transported to Hunt County Medical Center and is in stable condition.
