Palestine Police Department:
PALESTINE (KYTX) - The Palestine Police Department is continuing the investigation into an attempted robbery at the Mr. D's convenience store located at 3209 W. Oak St. The incident took place at approximately 2:30am on August 19, 2012. During the robbery attempt, the clerk, 62 year old Fred Robinson was shot once in the face.
Detectives were able to view video from the surveillance cameras at the store. The video along with several tips from concerned citizens helped lead police to John Nicholas Hicks b/m and Jhamerrick Milton b/m as being involved in the robbery attempt at Mr. D's.
After interviewing multiple people, detectives from the Palestine Police Department arrested 17 year old John Nicholas Hicks for his involvement in the robbery. Mr. Hicks was taken into custody in the 100 block of Devonshire on August 22, 2012 at approximately 1030am. Hicks declined to talk with police at this time.
The Palestine Police Department also has an active warrant for the arrest of 18 year old Jhamerrick Milton b/m. This warrant is for the offense of Aggravated Robbery.
The police are asking that if anyone knows the whereabouts of Mr. Milton please call the Palestine Police Department at 903-729-2254 or CRIME STOPERS at 903-729-TIPS. Crimes Stoppers can pay up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons involved in this incident.
