The Lindale Eagles have a new quarterback in 2012, Josiah Johnson. In previous seasons, Johnson played at wide receiver but now, he'll play a little bit of both. The senior isn't taking his new role lightly, saying he knows how much last season's QB, Clay Price, meant to the Eagles.
Players and coaches say they believe in Johnson's abilities to lead the team but it's who's protecting him that may be in question. The offense line doesn't return one starter in 2012.
Lindale is moving up in classification from 3A to 4A but the team will still face heavy competition in Class 3A as the Eagles will kickoff the season against Chapel Hill, the 2011 state champion.
