RUSK/CHEROKEE COUNTY (KYTX) - A Cherokee County jury sentenced 22-year-old Wayne Michael Frangiosa on Thursday to 50 years in prison for his involvement in an October robbery of a Jacksonville gas station.

Frangiosa was convicted of aggravated robbery/enhanced and was defended by attorney Sten Langjoen. Cherokee County District Attorney Elmer C. Beckworth Jr. prosecuted the case, and the honorable Dwight Phifer was the presiding judge.

"I want to thank the Cherokee County Sheriff Office, the lead agency, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Jacksonville Police Department for their combined efforts on this investigation," Beckworth said in a prepared statement.
