Released by the Kilgore Police Department
KILGORE/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - The Kilgore Police Department has developed a new and improved house/business watch program with added features.
While the Department has always offered a house watch program, a recent review of the program determined enhancements were needed. A new form was created in order to accurately capture needed information to improve our officer's ability to safeguard your property. A significant addition to the program will be "directed patrol." This gives citizens a way to pass information directly to the beat officer in regards to an ongoing problem in and around their neighborhood. As the title suggest, "directed patrol" directs officers to the problem areas.
The updated program now contains three specific elements. The elements are house watch, business watch and directed patrol. When Kilgore Citizens are out of town, away from their businesses and homes, an extra set of eyes on their property can be worthwhile. By simply completing the House Watch Form and returning it to the Kilgore Police Department an officer can keep an eye on your home or business while you are away. The form can be located on our Website at www.kilgorepolice.com. It is found under the "Special Programs" tab. You can also pick up copies at the Kilgore Police Department or from any Kilgore Police Officer. After the form is completed, mail, fax or email it to the Department. If you are unable to return it we can even have an officer stop by and pick it up.
Information is vital to the Department in combating crime. This program is a tool by which Kilgore Citizens can inform police officers patrolling their neighborhoods of homes or business which are vacant or problems occurring in the area. With this knowledge officers will be better equipped to safeguard our city.
If you have any questions about this program please contact Captain Roman Roberson at 903-983-1559. To learn more about the services provided by the Kilgore Police Department come visit us at the Department or online at www.kilgorepolice.com or www.facebook.com/kilgorepolice.
