UPDATE: Firefighters put out fire at Azalea Place nursing home

TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler firefighters confirmed with CBS 19 that the fire at a local nursing home has been put out.

Firefighters were called out the Azalea Place around 4:00 this afternoon when they got reports of heavy smoke coming from the building.

Tyler Firefighters say when they arrived, flames were visible from the building, and over 75 patients needed to be evacuated.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire. Firefighters believe the fire was caused by electrical problems coming from the building's breaker room.

 


TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler Police dispatchers confirmed with CBS 19 that crews are on scene of a nursing home fire.

The fire occurred in the 800 block of Porter St. in Tyler. Nursing home patients were evacuated while firefighters worked to put out the fire.

There was no word yet on what caused the fire, but we will have more information as it becomes available.
