UPDATE: As of 8:26 p.m., power has been restored to customers throughout Smith County including in the Whitehouse area.
Oncor said that an equipment failure led to the Whitehouse outages.
UPDATE: At 5:07 p.m., a power outage was reported in Whitehouse. More than 3,600 customers were without power, according to Oncor's storm report map.
A cause is unknown.
UPDATE: In the past hour, the Tyler Paper has reported flooding on multiple central Tyler streets, including the Bonner Avenue railroad underpass and at the intersection of Front and Spring streets.
Oncor has reduced its number of power outages in the City of Tyler to fewer than 100 customers.
EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Oncor is reporting more than 700 customers in East Texas without power, as of 3:25 p.m.
Most of those customers are in Smith County. According to Oncor's online Storm Center map, there are 280 customers without power along and near Lake Palestine's east short, 397 customers without power in Garden Valley, 25 customers in Whitehouse and another 87 customers in Tyler.
Other outages are reported in Van, Alto, Athens, Jacksonville, Palestine, Malakoff and Nacogdoches.
