TULSA, Okla. (KYTX) - A convicted sex offender from Texas was arrested Monday in Tulsa, Okla., on rape and kidnapping charges.

According to the Tulsa World newspaper, Christopher Alan Cardwell, 26,  is being held in the Tulsa jail on $260,000 bond, charged with first degree rape and single counts of kidnapping and failing to register as a sex offender. He is accused of sexually assaulting someone on Saturday in Tulsa, according to police.

In the arrest report, which was heavily redacted, police noted "numerous and extensive" bruising, strangulation and bite marks on the victim's body.

In 2001, Cardwell was convicted of raping a nine-year-old girl in Johnson County, south of Fort Worth. However, he failed to register as a sex offender in Oklahoma.
