TYLER/SMITH COUNT (KYTX) - This year, SPORTyler will be hosting it's 7th annual East Texas Kick- Off Luncheon to kick off football season with a special announcement by The Tyler Rose himself, Earl Campbell.

The luncheon will be held at the University of Texas at Tyler in the Louise Herrington Patriot Center on Wednesday, August 29 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.

Guest speakers are former college and NFL player Gary Baxter, and former University of Texas Football Head Coach, Fred Akers.

Forty-one area high schools, junior colleges and colleges are invited to attend and bring one senior athlete to receive a $250 scholarship.
