EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - The forecast for East Texas depends a lot on the track Hurricane Isaac takes across Louisiana.

The storm was downgraded to a tropical storm early Wednesday afternoon as Isaac interacts with the land in southern Louisiana. The farther west the storm goes before turning northward, the more it will affect our weather.

The track Wednesday afternoon takes the storm through central Louisiana and north into Arkansas east of Shreveport/Bossier City. On that track, only the counties bordering Louisiana have the potential to see 1 to 1-1/2 inches of rain.

Winds will gust to 20 mph in the Tyler area, and they could be a little stronger in those eastern counties. High temperatures will vary from the mid 90s in sunshine to the mid to upper 80s in rainy areas.
