(CBS) - Congressman Paul Ryan has accepted his party's vice presidential nomination.

It happened last night at the Republican National Convention. Ryan slammed President Obama saying he's done nothing to curb the nation's debt. He also addressed medicare, which has been one of his pet issues, while in the House of Representatives.

Ryan says he wants to save medicare for the current generation by changing it for future generations. Mitt Romney will accept his nomination tonight.
