West Nile update: Another case reported in Henderson County

UPDATE: According to a Texas Department of Public Safety situation report released at 5:49 p.m., a new case of human West Nile disease has been discovered in Henderson County.
 
That brings to total number of cases in East Texas to 106 among 15 counties.
 
 
EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - The Texas Department of Public Safety tonight released its latest state situation report on West Nile and its effects on Texans.
 
So far, the state has documented 973 reported human cases of West Nile illnesses, including 37 deaths, in 2012. Of that total, East Texas has reported 105 cases of West Nile disease or fever, including two deaths.
 
Onset dates for all West Nile illness cases range from May 25 through Aug. 27. During the same period last year, there were a total of nine reported human cases, including one fatal case.
