UPDATE: Foster was sentenced to eight years and 10 years, respectively, on two separate convictions for illegally practicing medicine. She must serve the sentences consecutively.
TYLER (KYTX) - Sentencing for former Tyler salon owner Carmel "CeCe" Foster began Friday morning in Smith County District Court. Foster pleaded guilty to illegally practicing medicine in July. The case is based on a series of complaints from people who received injections of an unknown gel substance meant to enlarge their breasts and buttocks. At least one woman became ill from those injections.
A Tyler Police detective was the state's first witness in sentencing.
