Hallsville man jailed on theft charges in two counties

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - A 35-year-old Hallsville is being held in the Gregg County Jail on $25,000 bond, as he faces theft charges in Gregg and Harrison counties.

Longview police arrested Jason Scott Coleman shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday after responding to a call for suspicious activity reported in the 5000 block of West Loop 281. A man told police that Coleman took several stainless steel valves from his property and sold them at a local scrap yard, according to police. The victim identified his property for police. The stolen values were valued at about $3,500.

Coleman is charged with third degree felony theft with prior convictions of the same charge. He also have a felony theft charge in Harrison County.
