COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (CNN) - A homeowner woke up Sunday morning to an uninvited guest in his swimming pool -- a deer.

Scott Smith says he quickly realized the deer was trapped in the pool and called 9-1-1. But when police arrived they couldn't get the deer out, either. That's when they called in a fire rescue crew for assistance.

Firefighters built a ramp to lure the deer out, which took about 10 minutes. But the escape wasn't cheap... Smith estimates repairs to his pool will cost about $25-hundred dollars.
