JACKSONVILLE/CHEROKEE COUNTY (KYTX) - A Flint man was killed in a two-vehicle wreck near Jacksonville on Tuesday morning.

According to Texas DPS troopers, Wayne Clinton Davis was traveling south in the southbound lane of Texas 204 about eight-tenths of a mile southwest of Jacksonville in a 2012 Chrysler 200 when he collided with 24-year-old Tyler Glenn Sherwood, who was traveling north in the southbound lane in a 1995 Nissan pickup at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A Cherokee County justice of the peace pronounced Davis dead at the scene, and his body was taken to Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Sherwood suffered blunt force trauma and was taken to ETMC-Jacksonville, where he was listed in stable condition.

It is not known if a citation will be issued in the wreck.
