KLICKITAT COUNTY, WA (CNN) - More than 400 homes in Washington state are being evacuated because of wildfires. There are two fires burning about five miles north of the Hood River on the Oregon-Washington border. According to the fire marshal's office, one fire had grown to 2-thousand acres and was "zero-percent contained." Sheriff's deputies in the area were going door-to-door informing people of the evacuations. The fires were first reported on Wednesday afternoon.

PHOENIX, AZ (CNN) - Phoenix was in the direct path of a 25-hundred foot wall of dust Thursday evening. The dust storm rolled in just as the rush hour was getting started, prompting warnings for drivers to pull over because of poor visibility. The storm is also expected to bring showers and thunderstorms into the Phoenix area. Forecasters expect rain and thunderstorms in the area throughout the weekend.
