LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Kidsview Playground at Lear Park will be temporarily closed for maintenance on Saturday, September 15, and Sunday, September 16. Volunteers from LeTourneau University will be sealing and painting the wooden structures of the playground. Park users are encouraged to enjoy other parks during this time.
In addition to the project at Kidsview Playground, volunteers from LeTourneau University will also be trimming and cleaning the nature trail at Lear Park, cleaning litter from streets throughout Longview, as well as a variety of other projects throughout the community.
According to Community Relations Coordinator Mary Jane Burnett, "We are expecting almost 200 student volunteers to help at park locations, intersections, and the Longview Police Department. We are very thankful for their efforts."
