Rodney Carrington has been ranked consistently over the last decade as one of the Top 10 grossing touring comedians, according to Pollstar, and it looks like he'll fall in the Top 5 by the time 2012 wraps up.
His latest tour, by the way, called "Laughter's Good," will stop at Memorial Auditorium in Wichita Falls on Thursday night.
It's not Carrington's first rodeo when it comes to performing in Wichita Falls. He has been here numerous times before, ever since he first stopped at the now-defunct Graham Central Station years ago and moved up in venue size to the 2,000-plus seater Memorial Auditorium.
People love him, and it's no wonder.
One of the hardest working guys in comedy, Carrington has a good ol' boy country way about him, and a kind of charming boyish immaturity that connects with people.
Carrington, a Longview, Texas, native, knew he would never be cut out for a 9 to 5 office job. He signed up for a theater class in junior college and discovered he had a knack for comedy.
