9-11 museum construction stopped

Posted: Updated:

(KYTX) - Hundreds of September 11th victim's families are speaking out after construction stopped on the new 9-11 museum set to be unveiled Tuesday.

The story of that tragic day will be told in a museum that was supposed to open this year beside other 9-11 memorials, but construction was stopped after financial disputes between the company that runs the museum and the government agency that owns the land came up.

Charles Wolf, who lost his wife in the September 11th attacks, says the memorial is incomplete without the museum.

"It is absolutely shameful, because this memorial is not just for the families, this memorial is for the world," says Wolf.

The Memorial and Museum Foundation estimates there is another 12 months of construction needed to complete the museum, which means there's a chance it could finally open by next September 11th.

The museum features the faces behind the names and relics of the Twin Towers with mementos of those who died in them.
