Texas Forest Service reports at least 12 fires in eastern Texas today

EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - The Texas Forest Service has assisted in more than a dozen wildfires in eastern Texas today, according to its Fire Activity Map:

Cherokee County: one-acre fire off U.S. 175 about three miles west of Jacksonville, 100 percent contained

Smith County: 10-acre fire near Clarence Cobb Road off about 15 miles east of Tyler, zero percent contained

Smith County: three-acre fire near Barber Road south of Interstate 20, zero percent contained

Upshur County: six-acre fire off Texas 155 about two miles northeast of Gilmer, zero percent contained

Cass County: 100-acre fire off FM 125 about six miles southeast of Linden, 100 percent contained

Cass County: two-acre fire off Texas 77 about four miles west of Douglassville, 100 percent contained

Cass County: two-acre fire off Texas 77 about five miles east of Naples, 100 percent contained

Bowie County: two-acre fire off U.S. 82 about three miles west of New Boston, 100 percent contained

Hopkins County: seven-acre fire between Sulphur Springs and Mount Vernon, northwest of Saltillo, 100 percent contained

Polk County: 50-acre fire off Texas 146 about five miles southeast of Livingston, zero percent contained

Polk County: three-acre fire off U.S. 287 about five miles southeast of Corrigan, 100 percent contained
