UPDATE (KYTX) - Fire officials tell CBS 19 that the fire that started around 2 p.m. Monday in Longview has been completely contained.
Fire fighters on the scene are still working to put out hot spots.
Officials tell us the fire is believed to have started by bark from a burn pile that lit nearby trees.
Texas Forest Service helicopter was used to help locate the fire due to the heavy smoke making it difficult to find for firefighters at the scene.
No injuries were reported and only one home was threatened. The home owner was not at home at the time of the fire.
No evacuations were necessary.
LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Fire crews are on the scene of a fire in Longview near Tryon Rd.
Longview Fire Marshal Johnny Zackary tells CBS 19 that the fire is located in the woods behind several homes.
Longview Fire Department along with Judson Metro Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene around 2 p.m. Monday.
No word on how severe the fire is or if any injuries have been reported.
