Lufkin Police Department:
LUFKIN (KYTX) - Lufkin Police Department officers are on the scene of an overturned truck tractor and trailer on Ellen Trout Drive (Loop 287) at North Timberland Drive (Highway 59 North). Both eastbound lanes of Ellen Trout Drive at the North Timberland Drive overpass are blocked to traffic.
Initial reports indicate that a truck tractor pulling a trailer containing approximately 42,000 pounds of steel rod exited from North Timberland Drive onto the "horseshoe" entrance ramp for Ellen Trout Drive and, upon reaching Ellen Trout Drive, the truck and trailer overturned. The driver, who was the only occupant of the truck, was not injured and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
LPD officers at the scene estimate that the eastbound lanes of Ellen Trout Drive will remain blocked to vehicular traffic until at least 4:00 PM this date.
No additional information concerning the vehicle, driver, or incident is available at this time.
