(CBS) - The CDC says this year's West Nile outbreak is on track to be the deadliest ever. This week alone, cases jumped 35 percent. The virus has killed 118 people this year. 48 states have been hit, with 40 percent of all cases in Texas. But there is some good news -- health experts say it looks like we may have seen the worst of the West Nile virus cases. They expect the number of cases to start declining.

(CBS) - A new study links deep sleep with physical maturity in teenagers. It found that so-called slow-wave sleep is directly connected to the onset of puberty. Researchers say disturbed or inadequate sleep could inhibit parts of the brain that activate the reproductive system. Recent studies show adolescents do not get enough shut-eye.
