Bossier City man arrested on child porn charge

Posted: Updated:

BOSSIER CITY (KTBS) - A Bossier City man is behind bars after dropping his computer off for maintenance at a local store.

Authorities tell KTBS 3 News that David Mitcham Conerly, 40, had taken a laptop computer to the Best Buy Store in the 2600 block of Beene Boulevard earlier this year.
Store personnel contacted Bossier City Police after noticing that the computer's hard drive contained files of suspected child pornography.

A computer forensics investigation was conducted by personnel with the Bossier City Marshal's Office assigned to the Northwest Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
After surrendering to authorities on Monday, police arrested Conerly on a warrant charging him with pornography involving juveniles.

Conerly was booked into the Bossier City Jail and later transferred to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility. His bond is set at $35,000.
