TYLER (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - A $10,000 grant to Texas College in Tyler will provide for on-campus improvements.

The college will use the funds from Home Depot's Retool Your School program to create accessibility for people with disabilities at one of the residence halls as well as a water fountain for use by students and the general public, according to a news release about the award.
The funds also will provide for the improvement of campus aesthetics through landscaping.

The Home Depot program, which is now in its third year, was designed to specifically reinvigorate historically black colleges and universities.

More than 60 schools competed for grants totaling $185,000 for sustainable on-campus improvements, according to a news release.
