EAST TEXAS (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - Former governor and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee will be the keynote speaker at this year's Boys & Girls Clubs of East Texas Champions of Youth Event.

The event will be Oct. 23 at the Green Acres Crosswalk Conference Center, 1607 Troup Highway, according to a news release.

Huckabee, former Arkansas governor, ran for president on the Republican ticket in 2008.
The evening will kick off with a private dinner at 5:30 p.m. and will include a book signing and photo opportunity. VIP table sponsorships are available.

Huckabee will deliver the keynote address at 7 p.m. He also will be part of a special music session.
Tickets for general admission seating to hear Huckabee's address are available online at www.bgcet.org/special-events/champions-of-youth/.

"He will be sharing with us great insight into the upcoming election and discussing his thoughts on the status of our country," the news release states.

Champions of Youth has been set aside annually to honor an individual and a corporation that have been important supporters of the Boys & Girls Clubs of East Texas.
