(KCEN) -- Accused Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan's defense has appealed a military judge's order to have Hasan forcibly shaved.

Now there is a stay in the case until an appeals court makes a decision on whether or not Hasan's beard will be shaved.

His defense has also appealed to overturn past and future contempt charges against Hasan due to wearing a beard in court.

Hasan claims he's keeping the beard for religious reasons.

Board member Barry Hughes said local Stage Stores Inc. intends to purchase or lease a facility at North Bolton Street and U.S. Highway 69, which would be used as a new distribution center. The property is the former Astro Air facilities.
