TYLER (KYTX) -- Friday was the first day of this year's East Texas State Fair and it's already drawing huge crowds.

Seniors kicked things off Friday morning from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The carnival portion of the fair kicked off at 4 p.m. which is the time it will open every day while the fair is open.

Around lunch time most people were looking for something they'd never eat outside the fair grounds.

"Look!" Latosha Williams said. "They have the deep-fried twinkies, the deep-fried snickers. They have the pickles."

The fair is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, September 30. Adults are $8 and kids are $5.
