(KYTX) - A man who intentionally jumped into a tiger's den at the Bronx Zoo says he wanted to be one with the tigers.
Aerial video shows just how the man got in by jumping from the zoo's monorail that carries visitors throughout the park.
He then scaled two fences screaming, 'I want to die' before jumping into the exhibit.
"When someone is determined to do something harmful to themselves, it's very hard to stop them," says Jim Breheny, the Bronx Zoo Director.
The man survive, suffering a punctured lung, deep scratches and a broken arm and ankle.
Witnesses say he is extremely lucky to be alive thanks to quick work by zoo staff using fire extinguishers to corner the 400 pound tiger and save the man.
