EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - A 6-year-old boy that went missing while swimming over the weekend at Lake O' the Pines has died.

According to Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden Captain Terry Potts, the 6-year-old was found unresponsive in the swimming area of the park at the lake.

The child was not wearing any protective gear.

He was transported to a local hospital and then flown to a hospital in Shreveport where he was pronounced dead Monday.

Marion Count game warden Robb Furlow tells CBS 19 that he advise all parents to not take their eyes off their children.

"They are your only responsibility," Furlow said.
