(KCEN) -- One Fort Hood soldier is dead and another is in jail after an accidental shooting occurred while watching football on Sunday.

It happened just after 10 p.m. in the 2800 block of Cantabrian Trail.

That's where police say 27-year-old Patrick Myers pulled out his gun while he and two others were drinking.

While Myers was allegedly handling the gun in an unsafe manner, it fired, hitting a 22-year-old in the face.

The man died while being transported to the hospital.

Myers is charged with manslaughter and is in the Bell County Jail on a $1 million bond.
