Posted: Updated:

(CBS) - President Obama and Mitt Romney will be competing for attention in Ohio today. The President will be in Bowling Green and Kent while Romney will be in the suburbs of Columbus, Cleveland and in Kent. Ohio is seen as critical to both campaigns. No Republican has ever been elected President without winning Ohio. Vice President Biden says if the Democrats win the buckeye state, they will win the election.

Speaking of Ohio, the latest CBS News poll is out and President Obama has extended his lead in the swing states of Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania. In Ohio, the President is now leading by ten points. In Florida, he's opened up a nine point advantage. And in Pennsylvania, he's up by 12-points.
