The City has two confirmed water main breaks (completely unrelated) at this time.  One is at the 2400 block of Old Bullard Road and the second is near the 700 block of South Broadway.   

The break on Broadway is an 8" main. The break on Old Bullard is a 6" main.  

There are customers who are without water at this time.  Under Ch. 19 -36, we notify customers if there will be an outage due to scheduled maintenance.  Because these are both breakages and not planned maintenance – customers were not notified.  We anticipate the repairs to be completed and water service restored within four hours.  We do not know at this time how many customers are without water service. 

Drivers are urged to take alternate routes.

TYLER (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - Tyler police are diverting northbound traffic in the 600 block of South Broadway Ave. due to a water main break.

Officers are diverting northbound traffic onto Rowland Place, which will bring them back onto South Broadway past the problem area.
