Heroes remembered at Tyler veterans home

Posted: Updated:

SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) -- The Memorial Garden at the Watkins-Logan home was designed and built by the Daughters of the American Revolution. It was designed to be wheelchair accessible and open for visits all year long.

The garden already includes benches and plants dedicated to individual heroes.

"I didn't want to just put a plaque or just something like that," Joy Dabney Hagg said. "I wanted something that would be used by other people."

The Daughters of Texas pitched in by spending three years raising money for the new garden.

There's plenty of space still open for new memorials. If you'd like to add a plant or something else, contact the veterans home.
