TYLER (KYTX) -- Cleanup crews in Tyler putting all their efforts into picking up debris and broken tree limbs from this past weekend.
As the rain started coming down, other things did too.
"There were 5 specific locations where trees fell," Greg Morgan, Director of Utilities and Public Works for the City of Tyler, said.
Morgan adds a total of 15 locations needed attention. Today with the sun out, priorities have shifted.
"Today our crews are working on inspecting drainage culverts and pipes underneath streets to make sure there's no debris blocking them," Morgan said.
But the timing now couldn't have been worse for the East Texas State Fair.
"To hit us on two of our biggest days of the fair, there's no question we're going to see a strong financial impact from that," John Sykes, President of the East Texas Fair Board, said.
He estimates a 20 percent drop in attendance from last year, when the fair was on track to surpass last year's totals.
