Tyler Police Department:

TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler residents have succeeded in surpassing last year's total of registered block parties for the annual Texans Against Crime (T.A.C.) set for October 9, 2012, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Tyler Police Department has registered 95 residential block and apartment complex parties for this coming Tuesday. Last year the City of Tyler had approximately 90 block parties throughout the City to promote the program. These totals do not include the businesses in the City who are participating throughout the day.

It's not too late to register your party with the police department for those who are interested.  To register your block party, call the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1096 or registering on-line at www.tylerpolice.com.

The Texans Against Crime (T.A.C.) ™ program is an annual event designed to unite neighbors and communities to encourage neighborhood communication, community involvement and crime prevention to create safer neighborhoods.  The T.A.C. ™ program encourages neighborhoods and businesses to host block parties as an opportunity to get to know your neighbors and fight crime.
